Do You Have A Job That Stinks?

Do you think your part-time job really stinks? How about this? Monroe County in Pennsylvania has created a new position that pays a little bit above minimum wage. It promises some limited travel in the most beautiful and scenic parts of mountainous Pennsylvania. The roads you will travel wind through picturesque Pocono Mountains.

river-refectionAre you interested? No high school diploma or college degree is needed! You will get to drive a county truck and your title will be "Roadway Sanitation Technician." You can apply if it's not already filled at the Monroe County offices. You will climb into a truck and drive off to spend your working days traveling from road to road in gorgeous scenery. So what will you specifically be doing? Picking up "road-kill!"

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PDOT) is responsible for the removal of dead animals along their routes. They do this on a weekly round through Monroe County. However, they couldn't keep up with the need in this heavily forested area. Therefore the county was required to create a new position and hire somebody to fill it! One bit of advice...please bring your own personal set of nose plugs!

All it's honest hard work for an honest pay check. Think about doing this in the summer time...whew! Is this the kind of a job you'd like to do? A job like this may be the most effective motivator to staying in school to complete your high school diploma and go on to a trade school or college to further your education and make yourself more valuable in the job market. Since a good portion of your life will be spent working...are you giving some serious thought to this subject? Meaningful work can and should be fulfilling. God is also interested in your future in regards to work!
