Some of you, and how I wish it could be all of you teens reading or listening to this, are some of the richest people that have ever lived on the face of this planet! Really...I AM TALKING TO YOU AND ABOUT YOU! Believe me... Maybe you don't believe me? I challenge you to take the following, simple, four-question test. I hope it will prove my point.
IF YOU can answer three out of the four following questions with a "YES" then you are among the 10% wealthiest teens who have ever lived on earth!!
ONE: Do you own more than one pair of shoes?
TWO: Do you own more than one pair of underwear?
THREE: Do you have a choice of what to eat for at least one meal out of three?
FOUR: Do you have your own transportation?
Okay...well...perhaps you are richer than you thought. Right? You'll notice, however, that the test does not specify that you can find both shoes out of a pair, that the other pairs of your underwear are clean, folded and in a drawer. And that the food tastes good and the transportation isn't covered in mud!
If you happen to be a part of the 10% most wealthy teens who have ever lived...what are you doing to help the other 90% who are not so fortunate? One of the real marks of a Christian is to be helping others not so well off. Think...what did Jesus do for those in need? What would Jesus do today if He lived where you live and had what you have?
What good is it, my brothers, if a man claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save him? Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to him, "Go, I wish you well; keep warm and well fed." but does nothing about his physical needs, what good is it? (James 2:14-16).
