Is The Glass Half Full Or Half Empty?

Robert Strand

Two teens happened to be leaning over the guard-rail of a fifty-story skyscraper... the rail broke and both fell! As they passed the fifteenth floor, the pessimist of the two were heard to say, "Helpppppp!!"

The other, an optimistic teen yelled, "So far, so goooood!!"

Your viewpoint, your attitude, your perspective is important in regards to how you are living and will be living your life! Is the glass half empty or half full? Is it a stop- light or a go-light? Is the day partly cloudy or partly sunny? Is life boring or exciting? Now you may be thinking, "What's the big deal?" Your attitude may not change the reality of a situation but your attitude affects you as well as all the people around you.

Two Salesmen

Two sales-persons were sent to an emerging country to sell shoes. One sent a fax back to the home office: "Send me a ticket home. NOBODY here wears shoes!"

The other, more optimistic, sent this fax to the home office: "Nobody wears shoes over here! EVERYBODY is a prospect for our products! Send me more shoes, more samples, more order blanks and some more help!" it's your turn! Are you looking at "obstacles" or "opportunities?" Is your life "Half-full" or "half-empty?" Are you an optimist or a pessimist? Are you joyful or unhappy? Do you need help on improving your attitude?

If so, the Bible is the best place to start! The Bible is a happy book...the word "joy" in any number of forms appears more than 500 times in the Bible. Most people sort of hope for the best...but the Bible based, born-again Christian has faith that it will actually happen!

"Dear Teens (friends), build yourselves up in your most holy faith and pray in the Holy Spirit. Keep yourselves in God's love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life" (Jude 20-21).
