Enthusiasm is one life quality that most people approve. But, perhaps, it is also one of the most fascinating and misunderstood qualities of life.

chickensOne example of how enthusiasm for a product has skyrocketed the demand is seen in the hen, yes you are hearing it right, the lowly chicken hen. When a hen lays an egg, which usually is an all day job, when finished she cackles excitedly as she announces her latest egg to all who might be within hearing. On the other hand, a duck hen, or a turkey hen or a goose hen lays her egg and is passive about the whole thing. All of us know that the demand for chicken eggs over duck eggs or turkey eggs is much greater... even though a duck egg or turkey is two to three times larger than that of a chicken. You learn such things if you have been raised on a farm or have visited a farm. Oh, well.

But let's take a closer look at the word "enthusiasm." It's one of those really interesting words when we consider what it means and where it has come from. This word originated with the Greeks. Really it is two Greek words..."En" and "Theos." Put them together and you have "En-Theos." Broken down "En" means something within a person and "Theos" is a word for God. Therefore it means that enthusiasm is the quality of life you have. "En-Theos," literally "God is within you!" Enthusiasm!

To become enthusiastic is never an accident; it is always the result of high intention, sincere effort, intelligent direction and skillful execution; it represents the wise life choice. And this is a life quality is catching! Let's begin now...repeat after me: I AM ENTHUSED! Begin each day by repeating this little mantra three times! You can become an enthusiastic person...with God's help!

"The Lord your God is with you, He is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing" (Zephaniah 3:17).
