Alexander-The-Great had a soldier in his army who happened to have the same name as the great commander. But it had come to his attention that the man was a coward when it came time to do battle. This man would run away or find some excuse for not going to war. Word finally leaked up through the ranks to Alexander that the man was a coward. He sent for the man.
This soldier stands before his Commander with fear and trembling. What was going to happen to him? Alexander simply said to him: "You will either change your name or you will change your conduct!"
Changing Your Name
The same goes for the whole lot of us...IF you name it, you had better live it! When you call yourself a "Christian" you must also conduct all of your life-style like a Christian. When you are at school, if you have a job, when you are at play, when you compete and how you treat others...are always important! If you name it, you had better live it!
Life has a way of testing all of us. Therefore our life actions need to reflect who and what we really are...when people can watch us or when nobody is around.
This world is tired of hypocrites and is looking for a Jesus Christ that can be worshiped and followed. This world wants to see Jesus Christ living in blue jeans! They want to see a believable life-style! They are hungry to see the real Christian. The kind of a Christian who can be trusted, who has integrity, who lives out the concepts of a loving, compassionate, caring God! It's time...let's live it!
"Now when Daniel learned that the decree had been published, he went home to his upstairs room where the windows opened toward Jerusalem. Three times a day he got down on his knees and prayed, giving thanks to his God, just as he had done before" (Daniel 6:10).
