Are You A Cheater?

Andy Stanley says that cheating is a decision "to give up one thing in hopes of gaining something else of greater value." Perhaps the question is not "do you cheat" but "where do you cheat?" What do you do when family, work, play, God and school all collide? How are you juggling the activities and schedules of your life? You may be thinking, "There are not enough hours in the day to do what I want to do." the end, you cheat. Cheat someone or yourself. Am I right? What can be done to put an end to cheating? How about considering these tips?

MAKE UP YOUR MIND TO STOP CHEATING AT HOME! Consider the young man, Daniel who was exiled a long ways from home in the king's palace in Babylon. Daniel didn't know how things would turn out but he made up his mind to not eat food offered to idols. Where did he learn this discipline? At home long before the testing took place in a foreign place. Start at home!

DEVELOP A PLAN! How will you handle the test? Decide now. Maybe the plans you make seem like a long shot but you will never know what happens unless or until you take an action. Decide what specific steps you will take to stop cheating at home so the same plan will be in place wherever you may be.

WATCH FOR GOD! You make the decision and you will discover God will give you the grace to pull it off. God cannot or will not make such decisions for you...but if and when you make the decision you can depend that God will bless your right choices and help you keep them when the big test comes!

"Now God had caused the official to show favor and sympathy to Daniel" (Daniel 1:9)!
