Rules Of The Road...for Teens

Do you know what the number one cause of death for teens is? Motor vehicle accidents! Further, a teen driver's greatest lifetime chance of a crash occurs in the first six to twelve months following their getting licensed. Studies now show the majority of these crashes could have been prevented!

Super model and celebrity mom, Niki Taylor said: "As the mother of two teenage sons and a car crash survivor, I know firsthand the gravity of this issue, and I wanted to try to do something about it." She has teamed with The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) and State Farm Insurance Co. to develop an online resource to guide parents and teens in setting the rules most likely to protect teen drivers.

These are the tips: *Use seat belts on every trip! *Do not use cell phones or any other electronic device when driving! *Follow all driving rules, including NO speeding! *Do not drive while impaired or ride as a passenger with an impaired driver! *Do not ride with an unlicensed or inexperienced teen driver! *NO peer passengers. Include siblings only after six months of experience and only if they are belted in! *No night time driving! *No high-speed roads!

Teens who say their parents establish rules and pay attention to their activities in a supportive way are HALF as likely to be in a crash! (NAPSI is source)

Does the Bible say anything about cars and teens? NO...but it does tell teens to obey their parents so they will live a long and fulfilling life on this earth.

"Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God!" (Psalm 20:7)
