According to Sports Illustrated magazine, Tiger Woods is the best golfer on the planet and perhaps the world's most famous celebrity athlete as well as being the richest athlete of our day. He had led a charmed life...gorgeous wife, two kids, classy, dignified, always in control and a winner to be admired.
However, in our memories, no famous public figure has fallen so far, so fast. His carefully crafted public persona is at odds with his real person. It all came crashing down on Thanksgiving night (11/29/09) as he wrapped his Cadillac Escalade around a tree and fire hydrant! Domestic violence was speculated. He was fined $164 for careless driving by the Florida Highway Patrol...but this was not the end, it was the beginning of revealing serial adultery as mistress after mistress came forward with his story of marital infidelity. The shattering of his public image joins a long list of other public figures who have fallen from their lofty perches.
How can a man who seemingly has everything be willing to throw it all away for fleeting, illicit pleasures. The Bible speaks of "the pleasures of sin for a season!" Also it says, that you can "be sure that your sins will find you out!" And the finding out can be painful...if not in this life, it will happen in the world to come at an awesome place called "The Judgment." Yes, all of us, rich or poor, famous of unknown will have our day in God's courtroom where all will be judged for the sins committed and the life that has been lived...good or bad! When any of us serve the devil...you can be sure there will be a payday. Sadly...the "tiger" has become a "cheet -- tah!'
"...every person is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment!" (Hebrews 9:27).
