A young woman was once found guilty of a crime against the king and he sentenced her to death. As the soldiers were taking her away to be executed, she shouted "But Sire, I can teach your horse to fly!"
"HALT!" cried out the king. "What did you say?"
She replied, "Sire, if you give me but a year before executing me I can teach your horse to fly."
"So be it," said the king. "You have one year to teach my horse to fly or else you will be executed. Let her go! Take her to a prison where she can teach my horse."
As this quick-thinking young lady was led away to her prison cell, one of the soldiers commented on how stupid she really was, because it's impossible for a horse to learn how to fly.
"True," said she, "but a lot can happen in a year. The king could die or the horse could die or I might die or the world could come to an end. AND who knows, maybe the horse will learn to fly?!"
A life lived like she lived hers, a life lived with a sense of the unknown but the possible potential is open to the fabulous possibilities of GOD! How do you know what might happen tomorrow? None of us knows that, only God knows what the future holds.
So why not live with faith and trust in God? You never know what the possibilities are when you place your faith and trust in the living, all powerful, exciting, wonderful, loving God! I don't know about tomorrow...but I know who holds the key!
Now listen, you who say, "Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money." Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes" (James 4:14-15).
