Beers, Brains And Buffalo

 Robert Strand

Back when buffalo roamed the West of America by the millions an interesting discovery was made by buffalo hunters. A herd of buffalo can and will only move as fast as the slowest or weakest buffalo. When the herd is hunted, the slowest and weakest ones at the back are slaughtered, first! This held true if they were hunted by Indians, or Americans or natural predators.

buffaloThe "natural" selection process was good for the herd as a whole because the general speed and health of the group keeps improving. The weak, the slow, the diseased are eliminated and the healthy ones are reproduced.

In very much the same way, the human brain can only operate and think as fast as the slowest brain cells! AND...we all know that the consumption and over-consumption of alcohol in any form kills brain cells! But naturally, alcohol always attacks the slowest and weakest of your brain cells...FIRST!

In this way...regular consumption...to make it plainer, every time you take an alcoholic drink, you are eliminating the slower and weaker brain cells. Logic would then lead us to think that after eliminating these slower and weaker brain cells, the brain becomes a faster and more efficient kind of machine!

Is this why teens who drink alcoholic beverages always feel smarter, and wiser, and more clever after a few beers, or wine, or hard liquors, or even drugs? How many of your brain cells have you killed off by your indulgences in a life-style that includes a few beers or some drinks? THINK ABOUT IT...IF YOU HAVE ENOUGH BRAIN CELLS LEFT TO THINK!

"Wine is a mocker and beer a brawler; whoever is led astray by them is not wise" (Proverbs 20:1).
