A clergyman of long ago stated, “Love is the best definition of heaven, and where love dwells, love for God and love for man, there is heaven.” -Macartney, C.E. Greatest Words in the Bible P 190-191.
“If all who hate would love us,
And all our loves were true,
The stars that swing above us
Would brighten in the blue.
If neighbor spake to neighbor
As love demands of all,
The rust would eat the saber
The spear stay on the wall.
Then every day would glisten,
And every day would shine,
And God would pause to listen
And life would be divine.” - James Newton Matthews, Ibid, p. 191.
In 1 Timothy 6:11, we are told to “pursue love.” This refers to the highest form of love, and usually speaks of the love of God for His people, the love of people for God, or love produced by God in the heart of man. - GPH Adult Suplement 1968 P 30
Elizabeth Kubler-Ross, M.D., said, “I have never met a person whose greatest need was anything other than real, unconditional love. You can find it in a simple act of kindness toward someone who needs help. There is no mistaking love. You feel it in your heart. It is the common fiber of life, the flame that heats our soul, energizes our spirit, and supplies passion to our lives. It is our connection to God and to each other.” - The Wheel of Life, Scribner, Reader’s Digest, Sept, 1997
“Love is perhaps the only glimpse we are permitted of eternity” (Helen Hayes).
