“Make us Thy mountaineers;
We would not linger on the lower slope;
Fill us afresh with hope, Thou God of hope,
That undefeated, we may climb the hill
As seeing Him who is invisible.”
Titus 2:14 speaks of “people who are eager and enthusiastic about living life that is good and filled with beneficial deeds” (The Amplified Bible).
William Arthur Ward wrote,
“Believe while others are doubting. Plan while others are playing. Decide while others are wishing. Save while others are wasting. Listen while others are talking. Smile while others are frowning. Persist while others are quitting.”
Henry Martyn cried as he stood for the first time on Indian soil,
“Now let me burn out for God.”
Within seven short years, his zeal had literally consumed him. But before he died, he had translated the New Testament into three languages! His statement inspired these words:
“And when I am dying, how glad I shall be
That the lamp of my life has been blazed out for Thee.
I shall not care in whatever I gave
Of labor or money one sinner to save.
I shall not care that the way has been rough
That Thy dear feet led the way is enough.
And when I am dying, how glad I shall be
That the lamp of my life has been blazed out for Thee.” - Author unknown
