Central Thought: We can benefit from godly advisors in our lives.
Fred and Tonya looked at the first of what would be many doctor and hospital bills. They were grateful their new daughter was home from the hospital, but the unexpected complications left them wondering how they could ever pay all of the bills. Then Tonya remembered Brother McWilliams, a deacon at her church. She knew he could help them come up with a plan to pay all of these bills.
Solomon knew the value of wisdom. When given a choice of any gift he wanted from God, Solomon chose wisdom. Soon Solomon was regarded as the wisest man on earth. People came from great distances to learn from him. Yet, even someone as wise as Solomon knew the value of sound advice. He knew that someone who wanted to win a war needed many advisors.
We need to consider that if someone as wise as Solomon recognized the need for sound advice, then we would do well to recognize the value of godly advisors. We should think of some of the biggest concerns we are currently facing and then prayerfully consider those who could give us some godly advice. Remember that God places other Christians in our lives to help us live for Him.
Devotional Prayer: Thank You for allowing me to seek godly advice from others.
