Today's Scripture: Isaiah 40:27–31
Central Thought: God never grows tired of strengthening His people.
'Sometimes it doesn't seem like God cares.” Have you ever complained like this? Even if you haven't spoken these words, you may have felt like saying them. You may experience times of stress when God's presence may not seem so close. During those times it could be easy to say, 'My way is hidden from the Lord; my cause is disregarded by my God.”
Yet, God is not absent during those stressful times. In fact, He never grows tired or weary and is always ready to help. In today's reading, many in Israel thought God had abandoned them. Their nation was conquered, and they lived in captivity in a foreign and pagan land. In this time of despair, God brought His people a message of hope—God would renew their strength and allow them to 'soar on wings like eagles.”
God's promise still applies to His people today. Anyone can grow weary and feel as if there is no hope. But, like Israel, we can also experience His strength and soar over the problems we face. As we consider this passage today, let us determine to let God give us His strength and power.
Devotional Prayer: Thank You, Lord, for always being there and helping me through all trials.
