Today's Scripture: Psalm 37:37
Central Thought: We can learn from the examples of others.
Have you watched a master glass blower at work? The artisan twirls the proper ingredients on the end of the metal tube and alternates between twirling, blowing into the tube and adding just the right mixture to produce a beautiful creation. It is no wonder those who watch the demonstration are often ready to purchase one of the finished products.
In today's reading, David challenged his readers to 'Consider the blameless, observe the upright.” As ruler of the nation of Israel, he had many responsibilities and pressures that required him to be his best. David needed the examples of those who could show him how to serve God.
When it comes to life, we can learn from a variety of other believers. These are people who consistently live for God and have learned to stay faithful to Him in the middle of some of the most difficult circumstances. These people set examples that we would do well to follow. If you have a pastor, elder, Sunday school teacher, or some other believer you look up to, let this person know how much you appreciate the good example he or she is to you
Devotional Prayer: Lord, help me to notice the examples of others who faithfully serve You.
