Today's Scripture: Psalms 18:16-36
Central Thought: Sometimes life is a battle and needs a battle plan.
Have you noticed that life seems to be a series of conflicts? These conflicts arise in our homes as well as the workplace. Our spiritual life is no exception either. It is a constant struggle between God's plan and our personal agenda.
The Psalmist David draws upon his war experiences and to show the care and provision God provides for the toughest of battles. He describes God as the defensive position that shields the believer from attack. He is pictured as a rock that provides a high ground against the enemy's assault. God's strength is granted for strengthening the arms that often fatigue under the normal grind of conflict.
It is very obvious that God has made provision for the conflicts He knows we will face. In each of them He has already made provision for the battle to be won! Ask Him for His provision, and in the light of this revelation face the conflict with a knowledge that the victory is yours. He has the battle plan.
Devotional Prayer: Lord, You are my source of strength and the means I can win in any conflict that comes my way.
