July 17 - The Blessing of Forgiveness

By Rev. Marcus Devasahayam Thomas

Today's Scripture: Romans 4:7,8.

Central Thought: All of us need the forgiveness that God offers.

What do you see when you look in the mirror? Do you just see your imperfections, or do you see yourself in the same light that God does? If you see yourself as someone God forgave, then you are truly blessed.

Today most people on this earth are living without the assurance of their salvation, because they do not know the true Savior that can forgive their sins. The lostness of humanity means we have a duty to testify for the Lord Jesus Christ to those who are working or living with us. All who listen to the Gospel and receive Christ can say now they are a blessed by the grace of God.

Can you think of sins in your own life? Even if you have been a Christian for many years, you can still stumble and need forgiveness. When we discover sin, we can ignore it or we can deal with it. If you find yourself carrying sin, you can turn to God today and find a Friend who will remove your sins and help you stand strong for Him.

Devotional Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for forgiving me of my sins and helping me stand strong for You.

Today's Bible Reading: 1 Chronicles 24:1-26:11; Romans 4:1-12; Psalm 13:1-6; Proverbs 19:15-16
