June 27 - Saving the Day!

By Mark Flattery

Today's Scripture: Acts 18:9-10.

Central Thought: God is working on your behalf

An eight-year-old boy was cornered near the cafeteria one winter morning. Three older boys were walking closer to him, ready to fire their snowballs. Without warning, the boys turned and ran away! What the eight-year-old boy did not see was that the school principal walked around the corner and stood behind him. His presence saved the day!

There are times in our lives when we do not know what to do. Our speculation of the outcomes of our actions only paralyzes us more. Do we accept Option A or Option B? Is there an Option C? In these moments, we as believers can turn to the Lord and seek His will. Paul was in such a predicament. In his moment of crisis, the Lord came to him in a vision and said, 'Do not be afraid … for I am with you….” The Lord saved the day!

When you are in a season of indecision or crisis, remember that God loves you and is working on your behalf, even though you may not see His handiwork. Remain faithful to Him, and He will be faithful to you.

Devotional Prayer: Dear Lord, I thank You that You are faithful. I pledge my trust and hope in You.
