Today's Scripture: Psalm 94:8-11
Central Thought: God knows the hearts of people better than anyone does.
Did you sometimes wonder whether your parents had 'eyes in the back of their heads”? Maybe you planned to do something you knew your parents would not allow. You thought you had planned everything so that there was no way you could be caught. Then you discovered that your plan was not a secret at all—you were caught.
Many people feel that God does not pay attention to their actions. Either they feel that He does not care what they do or that He is too busy doing other things to care about their lifestyles. Psalm 94:8-11 shows the folly of this line of reasoning. God sees and hears because He is the Creator of sound and sight. In addition, the God who disciplines nations can surely handle individual disobedience.
When we understand the awesome power and authority of God, it is clear that we cannot do anything that is hidden from Him. Understanding this truth helps us realize that we have an important responsibility to keep our lives pure before Him.
Devotional Prayer: Guard my heart so that I may be pure before You.
