Devotional Scripture: Proverbs 12:25
Central Thought: God cares for those who are anxious.
'I just can't handle it. My heart is pounding, my chest is tight, and I feel like I'm going to be sick.” Anxiety attacks can be devastating. Victims of these attacks experience serious physical and emotional side effects and sometimes avoid normal social interactions to protect themselves from embarrassment.
However, anxiety affects many people who do not have panic disorder. Almost everyone is anxious from time to time about a variety of things. Financial, relational, emotional, and spiritual challenges can produce anxiety. Anxiety that continues unchecked can produce long-range serious health problems.
Thankfully, God has an answer to anxiety. Proverbs 12:25 indicates that though anxiety weighs a person down, a kind word cheers him or her up. Such kindness is important for every Christian to develop. God wants us to be encouragers. Almost every day we will come across people that need a kind word in due season. We need to make kind words a daily habit.
Devotional Prayer: Lord, help me to remember to offer kind words to everyone I talk with today.
