Devotional Scripture: Psalms 69:16
Central Thought: God answers prayer even when we don't see the answer.
David is said to have written Psalm 69 when he was going through some very difficult times. In this Psalm, He describes his condition to God, admits all of his shortcomings, and prays to be delivered. David was totally innocent, but his own people did not understand his innocence. He could have proven that he was right by advocating his just cause. But he chose to seek God's face instead because he believed in the power of prayer, and he knew that in God's time and according to His plan, God would deliver him. David may not have seen an immediate answer, but he knew that God answered prayer.
Everyone goes through difficult times, just like David. One minister prayed all of his life for his wife to be saved, but it never happened. A few years after his death, she finally gave her heart to the Lord. God never forgets our prayers. In His time, He will answer according to His plan. Remember that even in life's most difficult situations, nothing is hidden from God. Maybe you do not see an immediate answer to your prayers, but be assured that He knows, He cares, He hears, and He answers. He will come through for you.
Devotional Prayer: Father, thank You that You hear me when I pray, even when I don't see an answer. Help me to know that You will come through for me in Your time and in Your way.
