Today's Scripture: Micah 6:8
Central Thought: God's Word clearly states what He expects from us.
What does the Lord require of His people? Micah lists three things:
1. To do justice. We are to be honest and integral in all of our relationships and in all of our business and personal transactions. We should remember that we are God's representatives, and to be anything less than just with others is to be a bad witness.
2. To love kindness. We are to show mercy, remembering that God has first displayed His mercy for us. That should prompt us to share the compassion and kindness God has demonstrated to us.
3. To walk humbly with God. The first two requirements deal with how we are toward others. The final requirement focuses on our relationship with God. A right relationship with God is characterized by humility, not arrogance. A humble servant strives to serve and glorify God in all of his or her efforts.
Devotional Prayer: Lord, thank You for setting an example for us to follow in each of these three areas.
