How Often Do You Laugh?

Comedian Jerry Lewis calls humor a "safety valve." "The peoples of the world who have the ability to laugh at themselves are those who survive," so says Lewis.

The late Bob Hope says that laughter has constructive power. "A laugh," he said, "can transform almost unbearable tears into something bearable, even hopeful."

The country humorist, Jerry Clower said, "God doesn't want his children to walk around unhappy. He wants them to be happy. I am convinced that there is just one place where there is not any laughter and that is hell. And I've made arrangements to miss hell, so, ha, ha, ha, I ain't goin' to have to ever be nowhere some folks ain't laughin'."

A recent survey indicates that the average child laughs about 150 times a day...but adults laugh less than 10 times a day. So you're a teen...in the process of becoming an adult. In becoming an adult, please don't lose your ability to laugh!

I have a theory that people who can laugh together are people who will last together. Have you noticed? Dictators and man political leaders cannot stand to be laughed at. I have this theory that if the German people had had a sense of humor, Hitler never would have come to power...if the first time they had seen the goose steppping and "heils" and laughed, there would have been no third Reich!

The Bible really has a lot to say about living with joy and happiness. Living with joy and laughter and good humor will make you a much better person! I'm for living with joy and laughter today, and the rest of your life and mine! Be happy!

"A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones" (Proverbs 17:22).
