June 1 - King Tut's Curse

King Tut's Curse

King Tut is likely the world's best known teen ager. Perhaps you've seen his exhibit that has traveled the world...if you haven't, you will be amazed when you see it.

It's been established that this legendary Egyptian pharaoh Tutankhamen died at age 19 in the year of 1324 B.C. How he died has been a huge controversy since his tomb was discovered by Howard Carter in 1922. However a new study published in the JOURNAL OF THE AMERICAN MEDICAL ASSOCIATION found that King Tut most likely died after a severe bout of malaria and complications from a fractured leg. This evidence was obtained through DNA testing done by Egyptian, German and Italian researchers. This now also explains the mystery of why a hundred or so walking sticks were found in his tomb. The writer, James Patterson, has just released a book in which he goes into great detail about how King Tut had been murdered...this new finding contradicts the old theory about his being murdered.

This is an amazing story...DNA reaches all the way back to the thirteenth century before Christ and can determine the cause of death in a mummy. Have you ever thought about how it would be possible for God to know and remember everything about your life and my life when you and I must stand before His Judgment Seat and give an account of our lifestyle? In fact, the Bible says it has a record of everything we have done or said in a lifetime. If DNA can do what it does...surely God has a better record keeping system. Therefore...when you live your life, keep an eye on eternity and how you need to live your life so you don't need to fear the coming judgment!

"And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books" (Revelation 20:12).
