Finding The Right Balance
FINDING THE RIGHT BALANCE
College life can be very busy for Tobin Heath! This University of North Carolina senior is the soccer team midfielder and a four-time All-American with the "Tar Heels." During her illustrious career she has helped her team win three NCAA titles including the one in 2009. She also was selected "all-tournament" each of those three times. She ended the 2009 tourney with five goals, 10 assists and 20 points!
Her accomplishments don't stop there. Heath can count a gold medal in the 2008 Olympics as a member with the USA women's national team. As a teen she counts it a privilege to have played with some of the game's legends...Kristine Lily, Abby Wambach and Carli Lloyd. All told she has played for the full national team 14 times while scoring two goals and numerous appearances with the national youth teams. Quite a resume for a twenty-one year old. She figures to be the face of women's soccer in America for the next decade.
Along with her athletic demands...there have been classes and plenty of hours in the library. What an exciting life! Heath says, "For me, soccer is a game that brings me great joy. I am extremely grateful that God has blessed me with the ability to play this awesome game!"
Besides all this she makes family time and says she counts worshiping the Lord as one of the great joys of her life. Despite her athletic accomplishments and busy schedule, one thing comes first for Tobin. "I try to incorporate God into everything I do. I don't find the balance hard because I have given everything to God to take care of."
