Don't Bother Me...Everything's Okay
DON'T BOTHER ME...EVERYTHING'S OKAY
If you are like most teens, you believe everybody lives somewhere forever. In America, many teens believe in heaven, according to surveys, and a smaller group believe in hell. In other parts of the world, there's a strong belief that the soul never dies but comes back to live all over again...as someone or something.
There are lots of differences in religions...but all seem to have one thing in common. How you live your life here determines what will happen after death. Some believe all good people go to heaven...others believe good people come back as better people or the possibility of becoming a better person.
THINK! If God asked you: "Why should I let you into my heaven?" How would you answer that? If you're like a whole lot of kids, you'd say..."I always tried to be good." Or it might go like this, "I never did anything real bad."
Okay...talk to Muslims, Hindus, even Christians or just average teens and you get much the same answer: Most believe that good people go to heaven or come back. The moral of this situation is simply, behave yourself here and now and you don't need to worry about what comes next! Am I right?
Gandhi of India said: "In the realm of the political and social and economic, we can be sufficiently certain to convert; but in the realm of religion there is not sufficient certainty to convert anybody, and therefore, there can be no conversions in religions."
If Gandhi wasn't certain about his religion can you be certain about yours? I am so glad that Jesus found certainty, He said, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No comes to the Father except through me" (John 14:6). That's a certainty that will really take you to heaven!
"You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it" (John 14:14)!
