Missions Ideas, part 2

Here are several ideas for district missions reps:

  • Create a world missions vision for churches (3-5 years)
  • Articulate a mission to reach the vision
  • Develop a district strategy for world missions
  • Consider annual, short, mid, and long-term objectives
  • Hire a good administrative assistant (you will need help)
  • Organize a board (team) to advance world missions in your district
  • Appoint or elect sectional or regional missions representatives
  • Initiate a Flashpoint office in your district
  • Develop a Flashpoint institute to train sectional representatives
  • Hold quarterly meetings with sectional representatives
  • Hold mission awareness workshops with representatives
  • Ask sections to develop strategies and set world missions goals
  • Promote missions committee workshops in every district church
  • Train district missionaries on how to help pastors with conventions
  • Hold monthly or quarterly Flashpoints for district pastors
  • Follow up on every pastor who attends a Flashpoint
  • Start a website with district missions resources
  • Create videos of district missionaries for local churches
  • Design and distribute missions newsletters or a journal
  • Encourage every church to hold a missions convention
  • Encourage every church to organize a missions team
  • Celebrate increase in every way possible
  • Maintain missions supplies at district or Flashpoint office
  • Ask pastors to start contacting missionaries
  • Ask the Missions Awareness Team and Flashpoint NTD for help
  • Assist missionaries with itineration through sectional representatives
  • Plan a missions banquet or lunch at district council
  • Encourage every district department towards increase
  • Integrate home, foreign, community, church, and internet missions
