America's New War: Are You Ready?

Fighting a war against the terrorists of the world will not be like any other war we have ever fought. Our enemy will have no nationality, no border, and no front line. We will fight him everywhere we find him the world over, from foreign mountain hideouts to our own cities, airports, and office buildings. His strongest weapon is the uncertainty - the fear and confusion - that we allow him to implant in our hearts.

No matter what happens during America's New War, remember...

God will still be here.

In the beginning you laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands. They will perish, but you remain; they will all wear out like a garment. Like clothing you will change them and they will be discarded. But you remain the same, and your years will never end. (Psalm 102:25-27)

God will always be in control.

The LORD reigns forever, your God, O Zion, for all generations. (Psalm 146:10)

God will continue to operate.

The plans of the LORD stand firm forever, the purposes of his heart through all generations. (Psalm 33:11)

God's power will never diminish.

Do you not know? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. (Isaiah 40:28)

God's security will always protect you.

The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms. He will drive out your enemy before you. (Deuteronomy 33:27)

God will still listen to you.

The LORD is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth. He fulfills the desires of those who fear him; he hears their cry and saves them. (Psalm 145:18-19)

God will continue to defend you.

You will not have to fight this battle....Stand firm and see the deliverance the LORD will give you.... Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Go out to face [your enemies] tomorrow, and the LORD will be with you. (2 Chronicles 20:17)

God will never reject you.

Come near to God and he will come near to you....For the LORD will not reject his people; he will never forsake his inheritance. (James 4:8; Psalm 94:14)

God will still value you immensely.

Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from the will of your Father. And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So don't be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows. (Matthew10:29-31)

Would you like to prepare your heart for war? Here's how:

1) Recognize the Problem:

There is no one righteous, not even one....For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Romans 3:10, 23

2) Understand the Solution:

Righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. Romans 3:22

3) Accept His Salvation:

Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. 1 Peter 3:18

You can pray something like this:

Dear God, I know I fall short of Your perfect will everyday. I have tried to do my best, but I realize that is not good enough to repair my problem and get me to heaven. I trust in Jesus' death on the cross to pay the penalty for all my sins. I believe His resurrection gives me eternal life. Thank you for giving me this free and wonderful gift. Amen.
