Life is Fragile, Handle With Care

Psalm 139:13-17
For you formed my inward parts; you wove me in my mother's womb. I will give thanks to you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; wonderful are your works, and my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was made in secret, and skillfully wrought in the depths of the earth; your eyes have seen my unformed substance; and in your book were all written. the days that were ordained for me, when as yet there was not one of them. How precious also are your thoughts to me, O God! How vast is the sum of them!

This passage goes into great detail as to how God made all the delicate, inner parts of our body. He knit us together in our mother's womb. Praise God for His workmanship. His great love and miracle working power cannot ever be matched by human hands. Man must understand his limits. God has never given anyone the right to dispose or harm what He specifically designed in the mother's womb.

A few months ago the phrase, 'Life is fragile, handle with care” became real to me once again.

My youngest daughter delivered a premature precious baby girl. As I looked at little Eden, God reminded me of how fragile life is. That little one is totally dependent upon her caregivers. It is imperative that loving care is administered to these little ones correctly, for it will assist in their spiritual and physical growth for years to come.

God has answered our prayers and baby Eden is doing wonderfully. Those first few days were certainly very critical, but we prayed and kept our eyes on God. We knew that the highest way to help nourish life is through prayer. God's love will walk us through whatever this life will throw at us. We are fragile, He is not!

I saw God carry my daughter and son-in-law through some very difficult days. Eden was in the hospital for two weeks and yet mom and dad lovingly stayed close by her side. Everyday they waited and trusted in God; I must say His grace has showed up in showers of blessing. The day we heard she would get to come home was a great day of rejoicing for all of us. God's love through Eden's parents assisted in the support, growth and health of her fragile little life.

God knows our frame more than anyone else, he wants us to recognize how delicate we are and how desperately we need Him.

We are like children in his sight, fragile and in need of much care and spiritual nourishment from His Holy Spirit. The Spirit of God daily sustains us. We must be totally dependent upon Him. He is a perfectly loving Father who knows all the answers for life. Who could ask for anything more!?

Prayer: Father, Your word is a perfect reminder as to how we are to love, care and nurture the children that you have loaned to us for a time. I pray that we will walk as overcomers in parenting our children. We thank you for entrusting the children to us, we submit to your authority and desire to be the caregiver you have called us to be.

He is watching just for you!
